After developing the play with Melanie in 2023, I was thrilled to return to this script. With the production team, we explored how to bring the audience into the ice cave, into the danger, and to make something as distant as glaciology feel immediate and engaging.

I also made sure we set green initiatives for the production, in keeping with the play’s focus on climate change:

• We used iPads until the script was finalized to avoid wasting paper

• All costumes were thrifted

• The set was made of recycled materials and was recycled again at the end of the process.
